1.      She has been presented with solo exhibitions by The Washington Accueil Association, La Maison Francaise at the Embassy of France and at L'Alliance Francaise, Washington DC.

  Her work has been juried by Asst. Curator of The Phillips Collection, Dean of The Corcoran

  Museum School of Art, and Founder of The Washington Studio School.  Portraiture and    

   pastel have been awarded first place prizes.  She is regularly exhibited at Orchard Gallery,

   Bethesda, Maryland. 

        Paintings, pastels, and sculpture are included in private collections in London, Paris,  

   Luxembourg, Aix-en-Provence, Toulouse, Brussels, The Hague, Florence, New York,

   Boston, Miami, Palm Beach, Austin, Denver, Washington DC, and Hollywood.

        She has taught for The Washington Accueil Association of The Embassy of France in

   Washington, DC, since 1995.  She lives with Linton Weeks, former staff writer for The        

   Washington Post, now national correspondent, Digital Media, National Public RadioIn 2009, they                

    created The Stone and Holt Weeks Foundation to honor their beloved sons. 

 

Jan Taylor Weeks

  1.     was born in Memphis Tennessee, grew up in the nature of rural Mississippi near the Mississippi River, and graduated with Distinction in psychology and art from Rhodes College.  For over 30 years, she has studied, taught, and exhibited with the community of painters of The Marchutz School, Aix-en-Provence, France.  She is a Marchutz School Artist-in-Residence, regularly painting in the environs of Aix.

  2.     Her oil paintings and pastels have been included in the exhibitions:  “L'Ecole Marchutz, 25 Ans”, Musee Granet, and "nouvelles voies:  7 artistes et l'ecole marchutz", Institute of American Universities, Aix-en-Provence, France;  "The Marchutz School, Four Artists/Teachers" and "Fourteen Artists", La Maison Francaise, The Embassy of France, Washington DC;  Paintings from the "Route de Cezanne", Palm Beach, Florida;  The Provence Collection, and Fourteen International Artists, Atlanta, Georgia.
